Five ways a Vaastu fee can be quoted
Before you compare two quotes, work out which shape each one takes. The same headline number can buy very different work.
| Fee shape | How it is worked out | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Per visit | One fixed price for a set visit, within a size limit | How long the visit lasts, the size limit, and whether travel and the written report sit inside the price |
| Per square foot | A rate multiplied by the property’s area | Which area is measured (carpet, built-up or plot), and whether a minimum fee applies |
| Per room or zone | A charge for each room or zone reviewed | Whether the entrance, kitchen, prayer room and toilets each count as a room, and who decides the count |
| Retainer | A monthly or whole-project fee while you build or renovate | How many site visits and drawing reviews it covers, and how it ends |
| Remote review | A fee to review drawings, a floor plan or photos without a visit | Whether anyone checks the real orientation on site, and what happens if the drawings are wrong |
Descriptions only. We print no other consultant’s rupee figure: we hold no dated, primary source for one, and any such figure would date quickly. Ask each consultant for a written, dated quote.
What a one-hour on-site visit should cover
Our own visit completes the diagnosis and the remediation plan in a single one-hour visit, per our Property Vaastu page. That only works if the hour goes on the property and not on selling. This is the checklist our visit follows. Use it to judge any consultant’s visit.
- Plot orientation. Directional alignment, slope and the influences around the property.
- Entrance. Main door direction, threshold position and any blockage.
- Kitchen. Stove placement, water source, storage, and whether fire and water sit next to each other.
- Bedrooms. Sleeping direction, mirror placement and where the master bedroom sits.
- Prayer room. Direction, placement, lighting and upkeep.
- Water bodies. Water tanks, borewells, swimming pools and water features.
- Vaastu dosh diagnosis. Any structural defect, each with a severity rating.
- A practical remediation plan. Corrections that do not need demolition.
- A written report. Ours arrives the same day, on WhatsApp or by email.
A visit that ends without a written report leaves you with a memory, not a plan. A visit that ends with a list of items to buy from the consultant is a sale.

Questions to ask before you book any consultant
- Who will visit in person, and will the same person write the report?
- How long is the visit, and is there a size limit on the fee?
- Is travel inside Delhi NCR included, or charged on top?
- Is GST included in the quoted fee?
- When will the written report arrive, and in what form?
- Are follow-up questions after the visit covered, and for how long?
- Does the consultant sell yantras, crystals or other remedies?
- What are the cancellation and reschedule terms, in writing?
- If the fee is per square foot or per room, how is the area or the room count decided?
- If you are buying, can the visit happen before you sign, with the seller’s permission?
Our own answers to every one of these are on the Property Vaastu page and in the fee box above.
Before you buy: when the visit helps most
Our Property Vaastu page calls the pre-purchase check the single most useful time for a Vaastu review, done with the seller’s permission before you finalise. A defect found before you sign can be weighed in the decision. Found after, it becomes a remediation job.
